A new 350 student elementary school for Quispamsis was
announced in the 2012-2013 provincial budget.

- Department of Transportation and Infrastructure
determined there is space to construct a two level 350
student K-5 school. The location was approved by the
District Education Council (September 2012)
- Educational Specifications document developed – led
by Josh Nowlan, Senior Project Manager, Department of
Education & Early Childhood Development. This
document is unique to each school project and outlines
the size and use of the spaces in the school
- Meetings with the Town of Quispamsis to look at
growth, trends in housing starts.
- Examination of enrolment trends and kindergarten
registrations for 2012-13
- Winter 2012
- Educational specifications signed off by committee and
approved by District Education Council and forwarded to
Minister
- Minister of Education Jody Carr & MLAs visited the site
January 2013 and a sign was erected
- Spring 2013
- Adjacency drawings developed by the committee and Josh
Nowlan
- Transportation staff began to examine boundaries
- Fall 2013
- Two meetings to review and give feedback on the
architect’s schematic drawings
- Initial meeting with Principals and Transportation to
examine boundaries
- Spring 2014
- Architect and Contractor named

- 5 resource/special care areas
- Student project areas
- Music room
- Performing arts class
- Double gym/change rooms

rep named by the DEC)
